Mom Caught With Little one In Trunk Was “Embarrassing” Second

A Gwinnett County mom is trying to defend her title as a guardian after a viral video has landed her in police custody.

In case you missed it, Dianna Shaffer was filmed driving down the freeway in her Dodge Challenger with the trunk open and a baby within the trunk. The clip went viral and precipitated an uproar on social media. However based on Shaffer, her 12-year-old son was using midway within the backseat and midway within the trunk with the intention to maintain on to a child bassinet.

After a girl reported the video to authorities, they met with Shaffer at her house in Duluth. In a current report, she described her actions as an “embarrassing” second and expressed her concern for her little one.

“I might by no means wish to put him deliberately at risk,” Shaffer stated. “It was an embarrassing second. I informed him to sit down proper right here, and to carry the leg of the bassinet so it didn’t fly out as a result of the trunk was up.”

Shaffer was charged with reckless conduct and a seat belt violation.
