Common Music Group confronted a lawsuit over a pattern utilized in Mary J. Blige’s basic track “Actual Love.” Tuff Metropolis Data, which owns the rights to The Honey Dippers’ closely sampled monitor “Impeach the President,” sued UMG for copyright infringement on Thursday (April 4).
Tuff Metropolis pursued authorized motion resulting from “Actual Love” allegedly sampling “Impeach the President” with out permission. “Actual Love” notably sampled Audio Two’s track “High Billin,” which featured a pattern of “Impeach the President.”
