Benny the Butcher has made clear that he’s conscious of the previous headlines about his DMX comparisons, and he simply needed to clarify that he was seeking to merely create a “second.”
Throughout his interview with The Breakfast Membership, which aired on Friday (January 12), the Griselda rapper said that he wasn’t making an attempt to be disrespectful or create an argument.
“Respect to DMX and his household and all that,” he started. “However what I meant was, I’m making a Def Jam second. These individuals who get on Twitter and…these blogs publish that shit to get the response. I’m sick of them doing that.”
He continued: “I’m sick of all these Web fuckin’ weirdos you’ve seen publish that image. Why publish that shit? To get individuals talkin’?”
