Diddy, a former pupil at Howard College, will not maintain an honorary diploma from the distinguished HBCU.
The Howard College Board of Trustees voted to revoke the diploma bestowed upon Sean Combs after their common assembly on June 7, 2024.
A spokesperson issued the next assertion.
“The Howard College Board of Trustees unanimously voted as we speak to simply accept the return of the honorary diploma awarded to Mr. Sean Combs in 2014. This resolution successfully revokes all related honors and privileges. Consequently, the Board has instructed that his title be faraway from all official paperwork itemizing honorary diploma recipients of Howard College.
Mr. Combs’ conduct, as depicted in a not too long ago launched video, starkly contrasts with the basic values and beliefs upheld by Howard College, rendering him unfit to retain the establishment’s highest honor.
The College maintains a steadfast stance towards all types of interpersonal violence.
Moreover, the Board has directed the administration to right away implement the next measures: terminate the 2016 reward settlement with Mr. Combs, disband the scholarship program established in his title, return his $1 million contribution, and annul the 2023 pledge settlement with the Sean Combs Basis.
As of this date, no funds have been made beneath the $1 million pledge, and due to this fact, no funds are due for return beneath the 2023 pledge settlement.”
Howard College’s spokesperson stated the college will make no additional assertion on the difficulty.
